I enjoyed the first half a lot; the group of side characters trailing Kamran were hilarious honestly and like the new dynamic between Alizeh and Cyrus after the ending of book 2. However it took a while for all the main characters to get to a point where they all had the same knowledge (at least 75% of the book). And Kamran is deeply frustrating and so focussed on himself constantly, I hate it. And yet everyone still hates Cyrus and loves Kamran?!! Rage. I’ve had enough of everyone just hating if Cyrus because of his reputation when if you pay attention he’s way nicer than Kamran.

Also not much happened plot wise. It takes the whole book to get to where it was obviously going at the end of book 2. I wanted more from story; Alizeh to make progress with the Jinn etc. It was still enjoyable but this was a much more character based story than the last one I think.

A bit about me… I love all things morally grey and magical!

My favourite series is Red Rising and I’m sucker for found family.

I drink way too much tea and live out my fantasy dreams by visiting medieval festivals and doing archery!

If I’m not reading you’ll find me writing my book or dreaming of far away places.
