Absolutely fantastic sequel!!!!!

I was worried I wouldn’t love this as much as Legendborn but I was so wrong - it was so good, full of heartache, tension, setbacks, discoveries and pain. Again I love the contrast of the two powers Bree is the inheritor of. I loved seeing more of her rootcraft and seeing her dig deeper into her roots and work of her control. In contrast we get some huge developments with Arthur and her role within the Order. I enjoyed the way the story unfolded. The plot was full of high intensity action scenes, character building, relationship development and exciting new character introductions. As with legendborn my heart bleeds for Bree and everything she suffers, her internal struggles and constant fear have me praying they all get a HEA eventually. The book is masterfully written with so many threads interwoven and deep meaning threaded through everything. I cannot wait for the next book!

Also Sel was on point and his rollercoaster of experiences in this book were everything. Team Sel and Bree all the way, always. All of Deonn’s characters are realistic and fully realised. Alice was hilarious and much needed in their group. William is a saint and I loved all the other side characters and what they brought to the story.

A bit about me… I love all things morally grey and magical!

My favourite series is Red Rising and I’m sucker for found family.

I drink way too much tea and live out my fantasy dreams by visiting medieval festivals and doing archery!

If I’m not reading you’ll find me writing my book or dreaming of far away places.
