Dark and Shallow Lies by Ginny Myers Sain - Book Review

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

The setting was fantastic! It was made the story work and added a creepier, small town secrets feel that I loved. The swamp was sticky and full of secrets and isolated and I devoured every minute of it. I loved the concept of this tiny town tucked away full of psychics and like any small town it had its share of dark history that no one talked about.

Grey was a great mc and I enjoyed following her through the summer and discoveries and grief. It wasn’t as fast paced as I expected, less hunting for clues, more slow unraveling of grey and her friends.

The end 100pgs was amazing, so much was revealed with a high stakes backdrop that had my heart pounding. Definitely a very enjoyable and bingable ya thriller! I will be reading some of her other books soon.

A bit about me… I love all things morally grey and magical!

My favourite series is Red Rising and I’m sucker for found family.

I drink way too much tea and live out my fantasy dreams by visiting medieval festivals and doing archery!

If I’m not reading you’ll find me writing my book or dreaming of far away places.
