Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Did I love it as much as Fourth Wing? No. Was it still addictive and entertaining? Yes! It was sort of exactly what I expected. I really enjoyed all the lessons and drama at basgiath and seeing Violent as a second year and how much she’d grown. It was just a deadly and violent as the first book with an elevated feel that made it stand separately to their first year. I love violets relationships with her friends and seeing these in action was so good! We get a lot of new characters added who all added different dynamics and all had their own growth with Violet which I liked (even if I hated some of them at first 🤣). With the war with venin hanging over them throughout the book it’s got a heavier feel but It was a natural progression of the plot.

The dragons obviously stole the show again - teenage andarna was hilarious!

The back and forth between Violet and Xaden got very repetitive and I got tired of them just having sex and never sorting out their issues. I did like how they dealt with things towards the end but they still have problems.

The reveals were great - some expected, some epic surprises! And the ending was really amazing, so much happened and I loved every minute of it. Excited and nervous to see where the next one will go.

A bit about me… I love all things morally grey and magical!

My favourite series is Red Rising and I’m sucker for found family.

I drink way too much tea and live out my fantasy dreams by visiting medieval festivals and doing archery!

If I’m not reading you’ll find me writing my book or dreaming of far away places.
