Leather and Lark by Byrnne Weaver - Book Review

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I did enjoy this one a lot but it wasn’t quite as fun as the first one. There wasn’t as much banter and chaotic energy. However I did enjoy seeing Lachlan help Lark heal and their slow build romance. Loved the marriage of convenience! It did feel like some of their romance happened of scene somehow and the background suspense/ mystery was lacking. There wasn’t as much plot to it and the search for the killer felt more like an afterthought with no real urgency until the end. The end confrontation was decent but it did wrap up very quickly. I adored the side characters, Lark’s grandmother was such a laugh! And it was great to see more of Lark as I already fell in love with her in the first book.

Overall I still enjoyed it a lot and look forward to the sequel but it wasn’t as fun or crazy as I wanted. Also it was much spicier imo - so if you’re not into the steamy scenes then this probably isn’t for you.

A bit about me… I love all things morally grey and magical!

My favourite series is Red Rising and I’m sucker for found family.

I drink way too much tea and live out my fantasy dreams by visiting medieval festivals and doing archery!

If I’m not reading you’ll find me writing my book or dreaming of far away places.
