This was SO GOOD!

This might be my favourite Sanderson yet - addictive bingeable writing with a MC I couldn’t help but adore with a full cast of rich, realistic and compelling characters. I clover everything about this book. The plot wrapped together so many of my favourites tropes - we get an isolated MC who has spent her life dreaming of flying and proving herself despite her ‘coward’ brand that chases her. We get pilot training with easy to understand sci Fi tech, grumpy mentor and full class of trainees. Friendships and rivals. Deadly soace fights against their endless enemy. Complex and broken military government hiding the past.

UGH. SO. GOOD.

I binged this in one day. I could not put it down. I was intrigued from the get go and it captured my interest without letting go. The history of humanity and their fight against the Krell was well developed and layered and I loved learning more about the world and it’s people as we progressed.

As much as I loved Spin, the whole cast was captivating. Each has a strong voice and stood out on the page, I couldn’t name favourites even if I tried. And M Bot was amazing, unexpected but hilarious, where do I get one?! Sanderson even had me feeling for the AI. Even the characters we were supposed to dislike had deep histories and you could understand their motivations and how they got to that point. The whole story was rich, layered and masterfully pulled together. I will be immediately diving into the sequel.

A bit about me… I love all things morally grey and magical!

My favourite series is Red Rising and I’m sucker for found family.

I drink way too much tea and live out my fantasy dreams by visiting medieval festivals and doing archery!

If I’m not reading you’ll find me writing my book or dreaming of far away places.
