Starling House by Alix E. Harrow - Book Review

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

It wasn’t what I expected but I really enjoyed it! I actually loved Opal and her prickly attitude, her history and her growth and the secrets revealed were all woven into the story beautifully and I couldn’t help but get invested. The gothic house and mysterious monsters and hidden legacy was all expertly written and bright together. It’s definitely not as story I’ll forget anytime soon. Something about the authors writing always feels so deep and emotional and brings a lot of layers to the story. Southern gothic horror / love story, atmospheric, raw and full of small town corruption.

A bit about me… I love all things morally grey and magical!

My favourite series is Red Rising and I’m sucker for found family.

I drink way too much tea and live out my fantasy dreams by visiting medieval festivals and doing archery!

If I’m not reading you’ll find me writing my book or dreaming of far away places.
