The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton - Book Review

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

This was a fun whimsical read, i wasn’t expecting the lady scoundrels to be so entertaining! Polite ladies who thieve and murder and fly battlehouses- yes they FLY their houses, all of which come equipped with weapons and cannons etc, and I loved it! This premise was amazing and I absolutely loved everything about the Wisteria Society and how they did things. These strong capable women enjoyed trying to assassinate one another but remained proper ladies in society with mutually agreed rules - it’s rude to discuss murder over dinner. The contradictions were wildly entertaining and I thoroughly enjoyed the society shenanigans.

I liked Ned a lot and he brought a fun dynamic to the story, I liked never knowing exactly who he was and his charm was top tier. I wasn’t a massive fan of Cecelia but her history was interesting and kept me intrigued. The romance had good banter and sarcasm and progressed naturally with a slow burn. All the other characters were compelling - Ms Darlington, Pleasance and Constantinople were my favourites! And I just really adored the concept. It was well developed and a fun read. If you enjoy historical romance but want a fantasy combination then this is the book!

A bit about me… I love all things morally grey and magical!

My favourite series is Red Rising and I’m sucker for found family.

I drink way too much tea and live out my fantasy dreams by visiting medieval festivals and doing archery!

If I’m not reading you’ll find me writing my book or dreaming of far away places.
