Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this but I was drawn in immediately. Kiem was just so loveable and all his misadventures, endless optimism and apparent ability to never run out of things cemented his place as a new favourite character. He grew so much throughout the story. Jainan on the other hand, is reserved and determined to please people in whatever way he can. I just wanted to give him a big hug 😭 the miscommunication between Jainan and Kiem lasted a while but it was a good kind of frustrating because I knew there would come a moment when they released the truth of how the other truly felt. (And it did not disappoint!)

Forced to marry newly widowed Jainan for galactic politics, Kiem is unprepared for everything that will follow. When things don’t add up and conspiracies arise Kiem and Jainan are forced to take up the hunt for answers themselves. We get a plot full of mysteries, space politics, action and a beautiful romance. The romance built so wonderfully, as they learnt more about each other they also discovered things about themselves. I absolutely love seeing their story unfold and the universe was well developed and complex but not too overwhelming. The side characters were all well developed and I loved how all the friendships grew.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and would highly recommend for anyone looking for a sci fi romance! It gave me everything I didn’t know I needed and I will definitely be picking up the next book from this author!

Whisporia Rep

A bit about me… I love all things morally grey and magical!

My favourite series is Red Rising and I’m sucker for found family.

I drink way too much tea and live out my fantasy dreams by visiting medieval festivals and doing archery!

If I’m not reading you’ll find me writing my book or dreaming of far away places.
