The Stolen Heir by Holly Black - Book Review

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

How good is it to be back into Elfhame? It’s been a couple of years since I’ve finished Queen of Nothing and being back has been a lovely journey!

We have the familiar style of Holly Black and all this characters we previously knew, which makes it such an interesting book! And although we already knew the two main characters, seeing a few years older was really good!

Which brings me to my possible favourite character so far from 2023: Wren! I simply love love love Wren and want to protect her from this cruel world - including Oak,… maybe. She has suffered quite a lot in her time in Elfhame and it’s quite amazing to see that she is quite fair, gentle and warm to the ones she befriends/love. She is possible the most humane character in the whole world of Elfhame.

The thing I liked the most about this book was following Wren’s story (past and present) through this quest with Oak. See her inner thoughts and feelings, her fears and uncertainty, her longing and dreams. I’m very excited to jump straight into the next book!

Whisporia Rep

I am an avid reader, always looking for my next superb read and a fantasy lover! I adore far too many books and if I were to pick my latest gem of a book, it would be ‘The Poisons We Drink’ by Bethany Baptist!

Others from my repertoire of forever in my heart also include, ‘The Whispering Dark’ by Kelly Andrew, ‘The Nature of Witches’ by Rachel Griffin and the classics of ‘The Shadowhunter Chronicles’ by Cassie Clare!

When not surrounded by book, I like to look at flowers, visit new places and be with my partner! I am also obsessed with the colour pink!
