The Complete Paper Type Guide for your Journal!
As you browse our products you’ll notice we use a whole range of paper types and we know it can be impossible to know which to select when you want to shop, so we’ve put together a complete guide to help you select exactly which is best for you!
Matte White Sticker Paper
Buttery smooth solid matte white sticker paper is perfect for all your standard sticker needs. This will work well in journals, on letters and alike. Note this is not waterproof and not suitable for areas that get lots of handling such as water bottles.
Matte Clear Sticker Paper
This matte clear sticker paper has an almost frosted appearance on the sheet, but will appear almost entirely transparent when added to your page. We love this for layering stickers over papers or other stickers on a journal page.
Washi Sticker Paper
Washi is a traditional Japanese paper made from soft inner fibres of native trees and shrubs made by hand in traditional ways. But over time the term has come to mean a wide range of paper coming from Japan. This sticker paper is beautiful soft and incredibly thin, making it perfect for journal pages - especially where you don’t want to bulk up your journal.
Matte White Vinyl
Vinyl is more hard wearing than standard sticker paper, and more suitable in places where the sticker may get handled more. Stickers printed on this are water resistent, but not suitable for the dishwasher. Note that matte vinyl is less hard wearing than glossy.
Glossy White Vinyl
Vinyl is more hard wearing than standard sticker paper, and more suitable in places where the sticker may get handled more. Stickers printed on this are water resistent, but not suitable for the dishwasher. Our Glossy White Vinyl is the most hard wearing of all our sticker materials and most suited to stickers going on laptops, bottles or kindles.
Our textured paper has a hammered finish giving it a unique tactile feel. Coming in at approximately 120gsm it is perfect for ripping, cutting and layering in journals or penpal letters.
Our smooth paper ranges from 90-180gsm and offers a crisp clean print or ideal surface for writing.
We stock various handmade papers which are ideal for crafting, journaling and pen pal letters. The papers are made using a variety of materials including pulp, fibres and flower petals.
Acetate is a thin film type plastic which can be cut with standard scissors. Acetate is completely transparent and offers a great way to create layers in your projects. Note that most clues will not work with acetate and we recommend double sided tape or glue dots.
Vellum is a semi translucent material ideal for layering or tipping into journals. The frosted appearance is ideal for creating depth. Our Vellum is 150gsm unless noted otherwise.
Heavy Weight Smooth Card
Our heavy weight card ranges from 220gsm - 400gsm and offers a robust card suitable for items being handled regularly. You will most often see this used for things like our challenge cards, bookmarks and prints.
Our Satin/Silk card has a luxurious finish that is semi-velvet like in finish. Whilst not as robust as a thicker card we find this is a great choice for bookmarks.
